Lease Agreement - Standard
The Lease Agreement - Standard is suitable for leases where the lessee has 100% use of the horse and pays all maintenance costs.
This lease is for a full, “off property” arrangement (ie. the horse does not live with the owner, but either with the lessee, or at an agistment centre). The agreement is 7 pages in total and includes the following:
horse to be kept off property at a specified address;
set the term (length of the lease) and price (can be $0 weekly if free lease);
specify permitted use of horse and what is not permitted;
all maintenance expenses to be paid by the lessee;
insurance clause (can be crossed out and deleted if the horse is not insured);
accident and emergency protocol;
owner can inspect with 7 days notice;
basic warranties: full disclosure of any health and soundness conditions, vices or behavioural issues required;
liability and indemnity clause; and
standard termination provisions to bring lease to an end.
