Emily Purvis is one of Australia’s leading equine law practitioners. After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, she went on to work for international law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills. In 2021, Emily combined her passion for practising law and riding horses to establish PURE Equine Law. With her top tier legal training and 25+ years of experience with horses, Emily provides clients with contracts and advice to protect against legal risks, streamline operations and implement best practices.
Emily is heavily involved with the “NewLaw” community and brings fresh, innovative and pragmatic thinking to her practice of law. She is passionate about making the law more accessible and is fastidious in her approach to delivering legal services. In 2023, she was recognised as the winner of the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Award for her work with PURE Equine Law. Emily is also a regular contributor to national horse magazine, Hoofbeats, on equine law related topics.
